When the Lights Go Down: Movie Review as Christian Practice

If you're interested in watching movies as a Christian from a Christian perspective, please check out the book *When the Lights Go Down: Movie Review as Christian Practice* by my good friend, mentor, and colleague, Dr. Mark Eckel. I had Mark as a professor at Moody, where I studied under him for a certification to teach Bible in Christian high schools. One thing I remember most about Mark is exactly what comes out in this book--the integration of faith and learning as it pertains to the realm of film. Mark is an exemplary teacher and he's made this book accessible for anyone who's interested in critiquing film from the Christian perspective. Throughout the book there are some great interviews, which sets the book apart from others, allowing a plurality of Christian voices to weigh in on the task of critiquing film from a variety of disciplines. I'm glad to have gotten the opportunity to be a small part of this project.
